S&W M&P 9mm....UPDATE-ARRIVED ...With PICS!!!!

I've put about 500rnds through my M&P9 now and I am one happy camper. It feels great in my hands with the large backstrap, shoots to point of aim and delivers decent accuracy (the way I shoot most pistols appear to have a skeet choke in them, but this one delivers groups instead of patterns!!!). Still don't like the mags (no problems yet, they just don't seem to be the same quality of the rest of the gun) but apart from that I think this one is a keeper.

I will add a range report after I get out and break it in.

SKBY, Q for ya, I looked at one of these beasties, (for my sister of course). ;)

I was wondering about the plastic/nylon bushing in the slide. It appears to be a wear surface for the striker?

I wasn't able to disassemble the (new) gun I looked at?

I'm sitting at about 2000 rounds or so through my M&P and love it. But, I have a new rear sight coming as mine is more than a little off. It shoots 4 inches high at 15yds, and yes I've had other shoot it too, just to be sure. S&W was excellent in dealing with the issue and a new sight is on the way.

In another thread it was mentioned that it looks like the barrel was threaded into the chamber block.

That is not correct. The barrel/chamber unit is one piece. There is a groove machined around the barrel were it meets the chamber that gives this appearance.

We got a bunch these a while ago and discovered the slides are stainless. So we buffed ours out and I have to say they look really sweet in two tone.I'll take a pic.

Has anyone found a Canadian source for full-length steel-bodied mags for the M&P's yet? :)

Pics would be cool...........

I'm thinking that I may Gun-Kote my slide OD or dark tan/Coyote Brown.................;)

The M&P slide reminds me of a Sig p226/220 slide........

I have a couple guys in the USA willing to pin mags for us, and send them to us. What we are working on right now is finding out if CBSA will let mags that are rivetted in or not.
Once we get some replies on that I'll post the info on the buy. we will need to order at least 40 though, to make it worthwhile.

I just bought a AR Lower, stop posting things like this to make my want to buy my first handgun. Why did my bank give me a 2K credit card limit to start with?
