I am looking to purchase an S&W M&P .40 or 9mm. I am having some difficulties finding retailers for this pistol. I am also considering having one shipped from other areas in Canada. I live in the Toronto area and don’t mind driving a couple hours if necessary. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Williams Arms in Port Perry, Target Sports in Gormley, Ellwood Epps in Orillia are the ones that come to mind that will most likely have them, in stock. That being said, I would talk to Gunner at Armco he always had great deals on them.
 
+1 for target sports.

I just aquired my PAL / RPAL about 6 months ago and have been into the shop a few times as I work in the area.
I have never purchased anything from them (yet) but they were always willing to spend the time to answer all my noob questions, and even let me handle many different firearms to see how they felt in my hands.

Great bunch of guys, and great customer service.
 
Picked up a STI Trojan from them last night to go along with the Ruger MK III and M&P9 I got from them a few months ago. Good Guys With good service. I would recommend them.

Other areas would save you PST which is around $40 (cost of extra mag). The shipping would offset the cost of gas anyway. For some reason, inter province restricted transfers are twice as fast as Ontario to Ontario... go figure...
 
Unfortunately, I have to agree. I do the majority of my purchasing outside of Ontario for this reason. Transfers are faster and no PST. I even buy all my ammo in QC so I don't have to sign any stupid log books.

Ha ha, I vote with my wallet as well, never bought blank CDs in Canada since they introduced the levy and haven't filled up with gas in Canada for months since the closest gas pump in US is only 9km away and saves me ~$15 on a tank now, before carbon tax...

Not to hijack the thread, but you are saying that you are able to purchase firearms out of province, have them transfered and shipped and the whole process is quicker than doing it locally. Could you explain in more detail please.
