S&W M&P in .45

I like my M&P in 40S&W. 45 would be a great choice. Its a light, compact gun, and it moves within my grip when trying to fire rapid shots with factory ammo. Its not that the recoil is intense, but more snappy like a 9mm. Very different feel than a 1911 in 45.

Considering this, but is there something else similar I should look at instead? Must be in .45 and have a rail.

The only caveat that I would remind you of is the size. It is a full-size pistol.

If concealment is a consideration, I suggest that you also consider the Glock 30 (or 30SF).

If you wanna go at the S&W .45 let me know. My in laws live out in Frankford. If you have a range to play on let me know.

I have had my M&P45 for almost a year now and have had only one problem with it. Out of the box it would shot 2" to the left consistently no matter who shot it. Called S&W the sent a return shipping label and 14 days later it was returned to me. I live in the US and am not sure how this would work in Canada. The front sight was not set correctly; they not only fixed it they sent it back with a new mag as well. Since then there have been no issues. I put 100 to 150 rounds a week through it and it has never had a FTF or a stove pipe. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Ok, what's wrong with the P250, are they poorly constructed, jam alot, inacurate? I'm kind of considering buying one so I'd appreciate some info on it so I can make a better decision.

Nice construction, modular is a neat feature, and VERY accurate. I've put 5 rounds in less than an inch and a half with a few of them(factory ammo at 25m, standing supported).

But, every one that I've used(from a few hundred rounds to well over a thousand in different examples) have had numerous fail to extract issues.

Thanks, could it possibly be the extractor and would a aftermarket one solve the issue, I'm not a expert at this, just guessing.

...would a aftermarket one solve the issue

I have no idea if there are aftermarket extractors or if that would fix the problems.

But I would rather not have to 'fix' new guns, when I can get a Glock, M&P or HK, etc, that will work 100% right out of the box.

Darren I have a .45 M&P and find that I can get it back on target faster than my STI 45.
I think it is because the bore is slightly lower than the 1911. I use both in competition and would not sell either one. Buy one you will love it.

If you can get one without the mag safety and thumb safety

My buddy has a Springfield XD in .45 and he loves it. Another friend who is a US police officer has the .45 M&P and it has become his current carry gun.

Probably can't go wrong with either of these two.

good God man...if you have the hands big enough (as I do...as this bad boy is big) then go for the FNP45 from our good friend at Arms East...you won't be disappointed (I'm not).
