S&W M&P no mag disconnect?

Im actually rolling this around as my first pistol , i have a few sources to choose from but everyone has the 4 1/4 in barrel , where are the m&p9s with the longer frame . it doesnt really matter but i would rather get one with the longer frame .

Longer frame or longer slide? As far as I know, the M&P Pro is what's available to Canadians in the longer slide and 5" barrel. The frame is the same length as the regular M&P. I don't think we get the M&P9L.

Biggest problem is finding a holster for the longer slide since there aren't many manufacturers that make them. These do not have internal locks, thumb safety or magazine disconnect safety.

I have a M&P9. I hated the mag saftey, so I removed it. It took all of 5 min when I had it apart for cleaning...... Not a real big deal IMHO.

Now if I was buying a new one, and I had a choice between a pistol with or without a mag safety..... I would definatly buy the one without the mag safety.

The holster I have for my M&P9 fits both my standard M&P as well as my buddies pro.... Its a blade tek holster.

KO I'm in the market for an M&P40..... are your prices going to 'nice' enough to justify me waiting till you get yours?

Cheers!

Thats exactly the kind im looking for , but like i said its more a preference thing , kind of a second cool to me .

I dont mind if i get it right away though , as im hoping to have both an m&p in 9 and 45. Something about the longer slide , *(sorry)* lol . just looks better to me .

I'd choke out a nun for one of the M&P45 Compact frames with a regular 4.25" slide on it, especially if it came with a FDE frame...

There might be a chance that S&W will release a M&P45 compact

in a threaded barrel kit

.

A reliable .45ACP that is virtually the same size as a Glock 19? With soft recoil? And with a Melonite finish to boot?

If they do, it'll sell like hotcakes; you'll have to line up for it.

I have one M&P 40 with the disconnect and one without. The one without the disconnect came in the pack where you got the bladetech holster, double mag pouch and 3 magazines. I am not sure if these awesome kits are still available. If they are, these are what Kodiak should bring in, I would buy a kit in 9mm and 45 ACP. I hate the writing on the slide too, but I would prefer to have the silly writing then have to always carry a spare empty magazine (which aren't cheap) just to do "hammer down" for IDPA. Also, I am not sure if you are allowed to disable the disconnect feature and still be allowed to use the gun. I guess if you don't say "hey I disabled the disconnect, can I still use the gun?" at a match you could be O.K..
