S&W M&P warranty

I've been considering getting a S&W M&P 15-22 for a while, read great reviews, and obviously some bad reviews. I'm completely turned off of the product due to the unacceptable warranty work, why bother with such a defective situation.

I bought a Ruger SR22, and I'm having plenty of fun. Thanks to you guys for helping me stay away from a lemon.

Maybe S&W will start taking things more seriously if they want to keep dealing in the canadian market, I hear the US economy is getting a little sluggish. Seems to make sense to have friends in other places, but maybe it's more of an "US and them" situation, this attitude will reflect in their sales up here, while they last.

Thanks guys. All the best.

An update for those following along at home...got a call from Smith & Wesson customer service manager yesterday afternoon advising that my replacement part is waiting on a loading dock to be shipped up here.

One small snag they are waiting on a few other parts to have the entire order complete for all the warranty claims across Canada and he is trying to get the order split into two to avoid further delays.

It comes down to money for the paperwork to ship up here, and S&W are just trying to save a buck and only ship once...because heaven forbid we customers with broken guns cut into their profit margin. He also went on to throw North Sylva under the bus a bit and state that the distributors need to order more replacement parts to have on hand...to which I called shenanigans and suggested that perhaps S&W should supply their distributors in advance with parts that are prone to breaking.

Well it's been a while so thought I would update this thread as I'm heading towards 6 months and still no replacement parts (bolt and extractor) from Smith & Wesson. Spoke to Jeff at North Sylva who is also super frustrated with S&W essentially not giving a damn about their Canadian customers in this situation.

Also spoke with the S&W customer service manager again this week and he "promised" me that the parts would ship across the border into Canada by the end of this month. He also said that S&W have hired someone to look after the Canadian market more closely...no name or contact information provided but this mystery person is aware of the problem with the 15-22's and is working to address it for the Canadian market.

I have other S&W products as well and mentioned this to them in all my communication...I'm a supporter of them and their products. Needless to say they won't see another dime from me after this experience. I realize we are a small portion of the market for them but 6 months for an extractor and bolt group is absolutely insane, especially when US based customers are getting this very same issue resolved in a 2 week turnaround period from what I have read elsewhere online.

After my lengthy 9 month wait, the only guy that I ever talked to @ S&W that gave a dam was Peter. He made sh!t happen. I had to call every day and in the end multiple times a day for a month ( not exaggerating here ) before I got my parts. They say the sqeeky wheel gets the grease. Shouldnt be like that..........but it is

A word of support for the guys over at North Sylva who are doing their level best to fix this, Jeff at North Sylva has worked some magic and I should be back up and running within a few days time if all goes to plan.
