Anyone own one , shot one ? I thinking of getting one in 9mm,but I really would like to talk to someone that has one. Any info on them would be great. ( other than what is on the S&W website )

I have nevered fired one but the police force got one in and i got to screw around with it. I think the different sized grip inserts are kinda cool. And it feels like a glock. But never getting to shoot it i wouldn't know what to compare it to.

I'd take it over XD or a Glock, but I would probably wait till it proves to be as durable/reliable as the two before buying one.

fyi my plastic fantastic is a Steyr M-A1...

go here for info and answered questions. Lots of guys on here that were using XD's and such. Site is about 6 months old but growing daily.

The Smith and Wesson rep had one at the last "suppliers day" the local range held. I got a chance to fire the 9mm version. It was OK... I'd take the XD over it any day of the week and probably the Glock too.

Also, keep in mind S&Ws track record with polymer pistols. Its been out for a while here and still I don't see it gaining popularity. The same ones at the local shops have been sitting there for months. And there are only one or two of them in the display. That doesn't say much for mag and part availability in the future.

I have one in 40. The 9mm is cheaper to feed.
My employer is changing over to this pistol in 2007. I like to own the same as I carry.
Similar to a glock, this is definately not a Sigma. I have only put 300 rounds through mine. I find it easy to shoot, but keep in mind that it is not a target pistol.

At combat distances, it can keep everything in the A-zone easily.

It will not do the same on a 25 yard bullseye range.

If a major police service adopts it, it will take off faster.

Mags are cheap for it right now, and S&W is really pushing the pistol.

OKDave already put up the link to my opinion posting.:)

I shot 100 rounds with a S&W M&P in 9mm (range gun) at The Shooting Edge in Calgary last week. I'm planning to buy one, so I guess that kinda says what I think.

It is a bit of a light endorsment, considering I have only tried one HK, one SIG and one Glock (all 9mm range guns) before making my decision.

Does anyone have any experience to sway me before I place the order?

It is still new but people who own them and love them. I was going to get one for myself but found out even the smallest grip panel still too big for me, I stood infront of the gun for a while and had to let it go. Great gun IMO.

Where are these so called cheap mags:p

Smith and Wesson factory mags $39 US on the website.

It was $36 when I ordered mine.

In my opinion $39 for a factory mag is cheap.

These mags are metal, so glock mags will always be cheaper to buy.
