I just picked up my new pistol the M&P9 2.0 and I ordered a set of night sights and a new Apex Tactical Action Enhancement Aluminum Trigger & Duty/Carry Kit. Love the look of that trigger, and it was in my budget. I’m going to install it in the next couple days, but I had a question before I do so. This trigger comes with 5-5.5lbs “duty” pull weight and a 1/8” heavy duty sear spring. I’m looking for a lighter pull than that. Ideal would be 4lbs but I know it’s probably not reasonable without buying a more expensive trigger.

Can I retain my factory sear spring and install the rest of the trigger components instead of the heavy duty one? Will this reduce pull weight at all? Any other safe and easy ways to reduce pull weight if the factory spring won’t do it?

Cheers

Apex themselves put out an info sheet that shows possible trigger pull weights using different spring combos.

If you want to switch a DCAEK into a CAEK, all you need is the Competition Spring Kit.
