S&W M&P9 Striker Spring

Generally, strikers are sold as complete units. Additionally, they don't wear out very often, I replaced my first one at 10K, took a look at it and realized it was fine so I ran the next one another 40K, I changed it out because the next one was the "new and improved, seriously shiny" one. The 40K striker was fine too. What issues are you having that's convinced you to replace your striker spring?

Murray Charlton Enterprises is the Canadian Warranty centre for S&W, or if you need a bunch of stuff, you can order though Brownells.

I had some ammunition fail to fire and I am seeing light strikes on the primer. Anything that doesn’t fire goes off in another 9mm no problem. From what I have read on line you should change the spring every 5000 rounds.

You didn't happens to be shooting Barnual ammo by any chance when this happened, did you? It is famous for exactly that in striker fired pistols.

If the primer isn't fully seated, the round won't fire the first time, it gets fully seated by the first strike and then it'll go on a second. Physically, it looks like a light strike, but it isn't. And yeah, Barnaul is only good for practising IA's - but it's excellent for that, probably the best training you can get for IA's.

replaced every 5000rnd!!?

Sounds like something about a 1911. Ive never heard anything like that about the M&P line before.
Ive got approximately 60'000rnds through my M&P9 in the last 5-6 years, and have never had to replace striker/spring. The only stoppages Ive had so far is a couple fail to go into battery because the ammo was out of spec.

I doubt its your striker/spring.

If you still want it for spare parts (doesn't hurt), Ive brought them in via brownells in the past.

Good luck.
