I tried out a a M&P9 long slide this weekend and have to admit its the firt polymer pistol i truly loved! So my question is would there be a noticeable difference in performance between the long slide and the regualr M&P? would recoil be significantly more noticable? would the time to get back on target be much longer? or for the most part would the difference be insignificant?

Thanks

Alex

There is little differeance between the two.

Felt recoil is the same.

Muzzle jump is less with the longer version, I think (IMHO) it's easier to get back on target.

With the longer sight picture it will be 'easier' to be accurate. Both guns have the same inherant accuracy, but with the longer sight radius, you will find it easier to get tighter groups.

I really don't see the benifit unless you are 'gaming'. For my purposes (putting holes in paper) there is not really a big differeance. Now if they were the same price.... I'd opt for the L. I already have the 'shorter' M&P (the L was not available when I bought mine) and I wouldn't think of trading it in on an L model.

If you are interested in the longer barreled gun why not opt for the Pro? I handled one two weeks ago down in Seattle. Gun's trigger pull was a lot crisper and lighter than my stock M&P 9.

For competition I prefer the CZ & Tanfanglios but the M&P Pro is pretty nice.

Take Care
