S&W M52 poor groups

Bill has been beating me with his M52 for the lsat 30 years. In the last few months, the groups have opened up and I have no trouble winning the beer.

I will try it next session, and see if it groups for me. I am wondering about his eyes, but also, I wonder if the gun is wearing.

The M52 shoots only mild lead full wadcutters. Can't imagine the barrel wearing out. Is this possible?

Does anyone make new barrels for the M52?

I would highly doubt that any number of target wadcutters would wear a barrel, they're not even cast, they're swaged! - it could be other parts of the pistol though. Simply cycling a pistol will eventually cause wear on the locking areas, also doesn't the 52 have a bushing at the muzzle end? wear in that area could cause issues.

I will shoot it and see if it shoots better for me. If not, it is off to the smith.

I borrowed it today and shot it. All in the black. The rear notch is narrow. Only showed about 1 CH of white on either side of front sight. When 65+ one needs a wider notch. An easy fix.

A CH is small. Only a Blonde CH is smaller.
