s&w mod-14-4 ?

i bought a s&w mod 14-4 , 6 inch barrel v.g. condition, .38 sp, what is this worth? and was it built as a target or service gun ????

The Model 14's were originally designed as target revolvers (and nice ones, too!). I'd say the value would be around $400 +/- depending on condition.

Lots of serious target shooters started with a basic .38 Special revolver. If the trigger job hasn't been done, have a trigger job done. Load with 2.7 grains of Bullseye and a 148 grain WC and go shooting.
"...what is this worth?..." It's worth what you paid for it. It's highly likely that you can sell it for what you paid for it 10 years from now.
