Hi,
This is my father's HG. It's in mint condition and I would like to keep it.
However, since it has a 105mm bbl and I cannot register it in my name (I'm not 12(6)).
Does anyone know where I can get an after market bbl (4.25") with a full under lug? I recently read a magazine
article about a gunsmith who lengthened the bbl of a Combat Master Piece from 2" to 4" (but can't find it now).

Any other ideas that will keep this HG away from the "grinder" would be welcomed.

Thanks.

i belive it has to be made befor 1947 befor he can inherit :(

I was told by the CFO the same thing (not sure about the year).
I guess anything made after the "cut-off" is too evil and dangerous....

105mm is the restricted length. I guess this one is a 4" which is 102mm.

Get a gunsmith to order a 5" K Frame barrel for you, and replace the old barrel with it. Maybe chop it down to 4.33". This should be the easy part.

But I don't know about the procedures with the Firearm Office...

Do yourself a favor and contact Gunnar at Armco. He will be able to address all of your questions with respect to ownership and barrel changeover to legalize. Armco is one of the bannered sponsors above.
Cheers:)

no 106mm is the restricted length 105mm and down you have to be 12-6
