S&W Model 17 VALUE ?

Hi Guys ! I would need a value for this S&W Model 17 in 22LR. I don't know enough about S&W Revolvers yet so I would need your help !

It's in beautiful shape as you can see.

they are very desirable and fetch a good price.
A 17 and a 14 are perfect for target revolver practice and competition.

just about the pinnacle of .22 revolvers in terms of quality. the 700-850 is correct

It would be the same thing, but made before model numbers were introduced in 1957.

If you want a .22 revolver, yes that one is desirable.

I think I gave $600 for mine, perhaps $650, a few years ago. I thought I did well at that, wouldn't be surprised to get $750-800 now but have no intention of trying.

I bought my Model 17 in 1978, $195 brand new, and my executors will have to make the decision to sell. Compared to the newer revolvers on the market I think one in excellent condition would be worth every penny of the range mentioned.

Buddy of mine sold one identical to that one a few weeks ago for $700.00 shipped.

Condition matters and the older ones sometimes seem to command a bit higher price but I'd agree with 750+/- as the ballpark. I have a 1948 K-22 that is firmly on my "do not sell" list.

NB The older ones also have more value if they still have the original box and papers

Whatever you do don't go out and shoot it yourself. You won't want to sell it if you do. They ARE that good.
