S&W model 19 price range?

I discovered that .22s in any format are not my thing.

I'm kind of leaning the other way. Ditch all my center fire stuff and keep the 22s. The center fire autos would be the first to go. Parting with my Smiths would be a bitter pill to swallow, would have to think long and hard about that move.

In any event, $600 should get you a pretty decent 19.

Yeah...nice, but it's at least $350 too much. Looks like I was able to secure myself that "like new" 19-3 from Marstar. I bought and sold couple of these in the past to make some extra cash, but this time my plan is to keep it.

You may find this add interesting lol. I find this guy out to lunch myself with most of his prices.

I've seen worse. You have to admit it looks to be in very fine condition.
And keep in mind the old S&W revolvers don't have Hilary Holes, or barrel liners, or MIM components and to my way of thinking they're
a much better gun. Whether, or not, the asking price is too high will be determined when it's actually sold - or not.

Nice score!
Saw that one a little too late.

The P&R Model 19 is a good choice.. As time passes nice ones are becoming tougher to find and will demand a premium . . The premium price is worth every penny if it truly is in premium condition. . premium ones are still around, just be patient .

Here's one I bought new in the mid 1970's. . Still have it in premium condition. . I bought an 18-3 to go along with it.

Bought this at Guncraft, Calgary Alberta. . 1975-76

Bought this at Woodwards, Calgary Alberta . . 1975-76

Love the balance of model 19. 27/28 are too heavy for my liking. Never had an opportunity to play with 4" version of 19 though.

Shoot the big N-Frame some and you may get to like them . My favorites are the older 5-screw ones (pre-models). .

The top two are N-Frames . . 44 Magnum, M29, with cokes . . 5-screw 357 Magnum (pre-model 27)

Imagine... buying a handgun in a department store! How times have changed. :(
Very nice examples by the way, but that 18-3 should be wearing its original Service Stocks. ;)
BNIB that 18-3 goes for about $6000 US.

Very nice, thank you for posting.

Marstar ship that 19 off to you yet?

I went looking on Marstar's site to view your acquisition (it was removed already) and ended up purchasing a 22lr revolver from them:rolleyes:

Wondering what their turn-around time to ship was?

M

You got the H&R? Good. I was going to impulse buy it instead of saving for a K22.

Ya, keep saving for that K22, they really are worth waiting for.

If the 999 Sportsman (unique in their own way) interests you , PM me. I'll be looking to sell one that the Marstar purchase replaces.

4 or 5 days till the package was on its way to me. Congratulations!
Trade Ex has couple of 17s listed on their website.

Thanks, but I do have to resist ;)

Those model 17s aren't too dear, but they look well used. For north of $600 landed I think I'll take my chances on the private market.

slight miscalculation on the tax... Close on $600 then, after tax and shipping on one of their best grade ones.

Honestly I think they're using milsurp grading. I'd not call any of them VG and some barely rate as good so far as appearance goes. Goes for the model 14s too.
