I love mine. I bought it about three years ago and put 1000's of rounds down the pipe. It runs copper plated Federals smooth as glass. Enjoy your toy!

the only thing I hated on mine was the crappy plastic grip. got a replacement wooden grip and it is much better. Mags are hard to find and 70.00 each. Not fun when both my mags broke. the bottom is plastic and gives out.

Mags are $28.50 (or $22.80 if you get dealer pricing) at Brownell's and in stock.

Mags are $30 each from Brownells .

When I needed to buy my first plinker when joining my club, I had decided on the 22A. Had to call a few stores until finding this same 7" black version at Bashaw Sports Centre in Alberta, along with a Bushhell Trophy red dot. Over the past few years I've put a few thousand rounds through. Of the 3-4 brands I've tried (CCI / Winchester, etc) for mine I've found Remington 22 Thunderbolt rounds work best. Can fire 300 rounds at the range and come up with 0-3 bad ones, usually 0-1. 500 round box at Canadian Tire around $34 bucks.

So you'll know regarding the 22A - I discovered from the S&W website 3 weeks after I purchased mine, there was a recall on 22As! Click on this http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category4_750001_750051_757979_-1_757978_757978_image to read about it if you're interested. Sent it away for warranty repair and got it back about 9 months later! Hopefully your 22A is much newer in manufacturing than mine.

With the Bushnell it seems a bit heavy for a .22, but you'll get use to it. Mine came with 2 mags from Bashaw in the standard S&W blue hard plastic range case. Enjoy!

had one. worked amazingly well with Dynapoint (black box at canadian tire) ammo, other ammo was ok and some was garbage (i think HV eXpert or something like that was by far the worst). Dynapoint was king supreme d'elegance.

but mags aren't easy to find or cheap, and those fancy speedloaders for ruger/buckmark mags don't really work with the 22A mags, so i sold it and bought two Buckmarks plus 10 or 12 mags. like those guns/mags better.

BUT, the heavy barrel of the 22A is actually quite nice. the Model 41 is much better, but easily 4X the price.

I just got mine with the wood grip for $20 more I love it. The Ruger MKIII they had felt quite junky. Must have been a bad one cause it was loose and rattled. It was between this and the buckmark. My buddy has the Browning so made this the easy choice. Nice gun for the money.
