S & W model 29-2 in 8 3/8 or 6.5?

I'm looking forward to shooting this one, can't be any worse than my Super blackhawk 44 mag 4 5/8 barrel with those small wood grips, kicks like a mule.

Congrats. It will be a nice shooter for sure.

Have to say though, that for me a 4 5/8" SBH is a treat to shoot compared to a 4" and 6" 29 with full power factory loads. Lots of muzzle flip with the SBH but it rolls back in the hand.

I owned a 29-2 and a 629 both in 6” in the 80’s. Word of caution, don’t feed them a steady diet of full house loads or else they will shoot loose (timing) and you’ll need Murray Charlton’s services. Don’t ask how I know:p
