Does anyone have one of these? If so how are they? Cost to buy one? and where to find one? (Yes I know EE).

I ask because I really like my field model 422...wouldnt mind getting another similar type.

If you're wanting a quality .22 for bullseye shooting you can't go wrong with a Model 41. The 622 is more of a field gun, fine for plinking but very similar to the gun you now have.

Thanx.

I forgot to add, I have a 41 mag but it wont work in my 422 as some said it would. I heard you can modify the 41 mag to work but dont know what or how to...

If I can find a model 41 I might as well not attempt to mod to the mag and just keep it as is.

:agree:

I used a Model 41 for .22 Silhouette some years back. It won a number of Standing championships for me. It is amazingly accurate out to 100 m. The trigger is excellent, good sights. Even with run of the mill .22's it is accurate. If you can find one and you enjoy target shooting- grab it! As mentioned, the 622 is more of a plinker. Nothing wrong with it- just not as good quality.

The model 41 is an excellent gun. I have owned mine for many years and it is fantastic. Although it can be picky with ammo, I just buy the kinds that I know it will cycle. They are superbly accurate, comfortable, easily adjustable and fun to shoot.

I highly recommend the Model 41. Mine runs like clockwork, has a perfect trigger, and shoots like a laser if I do my part. So far, the only ammo it doesn't like is the Federal 525 round Value Packs.

They aren't cheap, but they're a real work of art. Used ones typically go for around $650-$1,000 and new ones about $1,200-$1,300.

Great to hear that the 41 is so highly regarded but didnt know they are so much $$$ My 422 loves the Fed value 525 paks!

Im more of a plinker so maybe I should lean towards the 622, hell id buy another 422 if I could find one.

Cheers to all!

I modifyed a 41 mag to fit my 422 some months back. It was merely a case of extending the little catch slot slightly to the middel of the front surface curve as I recall. Just be careful to only extend the slot to the side and not upwards or the magazine will fit a littel sloppy. It's not microscopically critical but the idea is to just exercise normal shop care and accuracy. I did the work with a needle file so going a little slow (about 3 minutes to do the job) was built in... :D

If you look at the 422 and 41 mags side by side the difference will be very obvious.

The 41 is a superb pistol but I think that if I was looking at a dedicated bullseye shooter I'd be looking at both the 41 as well as a number of the Hi Standard tournament guns as well. The "kits" for those are in the same price range and they are really something to see.

I love my 41. Nice gun, beautifully made, awesome trigger but a couple of my friends can't shoot it well without it jamming up on them. Limp wristing a .22?

Works great for me but I think you need to try before you buy.
