Last weekend while shooting my model 41 the elevation screw that holds down the rear sight popped out of the gun. Upon inspection it was evident that the threads have stripped inside the rear sight assembly. I know this is strange, it was not over tightened nor was it backed all of the way out. The elevation had not been adjusted for many years, the gun has shot exactly to my liking for a very long time.
Question is, can I get a new rear sight from S&W? Is it just a standard Bomar mount that I can install any sight into? Any feedback is appreciated,
