Just bought a new S&W Model 41 .22 LR target pistol. Have had it out 3 times and have got it zeroed in.

Noticed tonight while cleaning it that the rear sight moves from left to right with just light finger pressure.

Can anyone, with direct experience, give me some advice on how to fix the problem and get the rear sight locked in solidly again?

When I first got my Tokarev my rear sight almost flew off after 100 rounds. I used a little bit of blue sticky tack on the bottom of the sight to stop it from sliding and then I used blue loctite/threadlocker to seal it in place. It's worked on both the Tokarev for almost 300 rounds and thousands of rounds on my GSG (replaced both the front and rear sights). Blue loctite alone didn't keep the Tok sight in which is why I tried out the sticky tack.

who is the S&W warranty centre and he was super helpful.

Just unscrew the elevation screw. The top of the sight flips up and you tighten two very small retention screws.

"...Fixed it!..." You'll have to sight in again. What ammo does yours like? 41's are notoriously fussy about what ammo they'll shoot well and cycle the action using.
