Excellent Condition. Which dash?

For some reason, the model 52's without the dash command better dollars. The dash ones and the dash two's slightly less.
Sight unseen is difficult to price, but I'm thinking if its 95% or better, if I wanted one, but don't, I think a fair starting price would be around C$750.00. 52's are now only Performance Center products, so new from 'Smith would be into the thousand and a halfs I think. That alone pushes up the price. Only trouble, you gotta find someone who wants one.

I'm a big fan of the 52 (I have one no-dash and one 52-2), the neat thing about the 52 no-dash is that it was made to be converted to double-action with simple modifications (i've never done this, but I think all the parts are there in the frame ready for the conversion, no kit needed). I agree with hatman that the value of a 52 no-dash depends on who's buying, a collector will pay a fair sum, but a target shooter may hold-out for a reasonable 52-2 (that'll shoot just as nice!) Most guys I know looking for a target 52 are willing to pay $550 to $750, but for a 52 no-dash in the condition that you've described it's a tough call since you have to meet the right buyer at the right time (you'd have a better chance in the US of getting top dollar!) Best of luck!

52-0

The last one I sold- was awhile back in good condition
was 650.oo
missed a exc one last year that went for 470.oo
++***crap . so as others said, 600-700 should move it.
I love the things - only s-w sa I can hit anything with.
39sp is sooo cheap to shot, the problem is these days
everybody seems to be on the " gota be BIG and Bad!
(I still shoot 22 shorts :)

I have owned several over the years, I would say $800 would be a reasonalble asking price, you just have to find the right guy who wants to shoot wad cutters.

For a collector the non-dash would be of interest. As a target shooter I would rather (and do) have a 52-2. You could have a tough time finding a collector who wants one though.
