If I say I have one, do I have to post pictures?
So far, my 3" stainless J frame collection is small:
Model 60 Ladysmith
model 940 9mm
Model 642 .38
Model 640 .38
They are like shooting a little K frame, that extra inch of barrel does make a difference, though more in handling than accuracy for me. I have all the same ones in 2" and kind of prefer the look of those, though for shooting, the 3" guns do a little better.
It is hard to imagine something goofier looking than Uncle Mike's compact grips on a 5" model 60 though. That is just about worth the bother of a picture.
There are lots of 3" stainless J frame revolvers out there though. I recently missed a 632 (32 H&R mag) in 3" ... I didn't check the S&W Bible but I think that one might have been rare. I have a boring old model 30 in 3", but that just isn't the same.
Even with some luck finding cool toys, I can't find a round butt 2" model 30, though there is a square butt one resting uneasily with the other J frames. It knows if there is a round butt version to be had, it's gone.
If someone has a nice 2" round butt model 30, there is indeed a 3" model 60 available...
