S&W modle 17 value

I am looking at a great used S&W 17 in 22lr 6inch barrel with box and original paper work from 1980 in 99% just wondering what a good price would be for one of these beauties/

I can only provide a little bit of help here. It seems that Model 17s (regardless of dash) are going these days for $500+ without a box and papers. You might want to go visit the Smith and Wesson Forum (www.smith-wessonforum.com) and search through the posts there. Good luck.

I paid $549 for my 17-3 from 1976. Its in a very good condition. But there is no box or anythinh else that comes eith the gun. The new s&w model 617 are going for $829 but they are 10 shot and stainless. I would value yours around $700.

Without the box and papers, $450 - $650, depending on condition. With the box and papers, closer to $750 or $800 wouldn't be unheard of.
