S&W MP mags question

I know with certain guns a .40S&W mag will also hold and work well with 9mm rounds......so you can have 14-15 9mm rounds in a .40S&W mag instead of only 10 in a normal 9mm mag as long as its made for the same gun and this is perfectly legal. Does anyone know if this works with the S&W MP9?

yes it's legal, and it only holds 11 rounds of 9mm in a .40 mag

Well it's one more round you otherwise wouldn't have had, and if you ever decide to go for a .40S&W then you already have the mags you need.

My MP40 mags hold 12 rounds. Lips require little bending as MP40 mags have wider gap or else the last round will not feed.

Someone correct me if im wrong on this but by bending the feeder lips you are modyfying this magazine therefore making it illegal to use in a 9mm?

correct, by bending the feedlips with the express purpose of feeding 9mm ammo you have manufactured a new magazine, prohibited device.
