S & W MP trigger

I am ready to buy a S&W MP. However, I don't like the 6 1/2 lb trigger. Is that easily to get it down to 3 1/2 lb ? Thanks.

I find the stock trigger to be pretty good; definitely feels lighter than 6.5lbs... there is a place in US that does trigger jobs on the M&Ps but I don't think anyone does that here. You might be able to do it yourself, I remember seeing a website on how it's done.

I shoot the 40 M&P. I've a few thousand rounds through it now and its pretty smooth. I have to keep it stock for IPSC, but if you need a lighter trigger here is a websight that shows how to do it . X2. It's not as crisp as my 1911 but I find my M&P's trigger to feel much lighter than 6.5lbs. I'd try to get some range time behind it before deciding on modifying the trigger.

i too am new to the M&P 9 and I think the trigger is very crisp after the initial take up. after the first shot I only release the trigger till it engages again so every other shot after is nice and crisp.

i think slanex posted a link in another thread about a trigger job. im sure you can find it through the search.

Thanks guys. BTW, I have seen MP in 9mm and 40 but I have not seen any MP45 in Vancouver. Do the MP 45 come with a much bigger frame ? I have small hands and I have a Glock 17 already. I would like a MP in 45 this time.

And if you do everyting that Dan Burwell suggests on his website you can get it down to 2.75 lbs.

No 45 version is larger! both longer (barrel) and wider frame...

hmm well if I am wrong, sorry. Haven't got one to compare. They are listed as same frame, width,height and barrel . Only difference is slide length by .25 of an inch. Everything is same as per S&W site.

I've tried a couple of M&P triggers so far, and I can say that they are actually pretty good.

There is a guy in Canada that does the Dan Burwell trigger job. I think he charges $120 or something...

I have all calibers in stock. The 45 guns do have larger frames, they are about .25" longer through the grip. Width is just a tad thicker. It is about the smallest 45ACP frame out their, only a little bit bigger than a 1911 frame and it is a double stack mag.
