S&W R8 update

Ok, finally got my extra long pin and installed it couple of days ago. Along with that I did put an extra longer set screw for the main spring and after all this it ignites everything that I throw in it. Double, single action, rapid fire. Blazers 38 special, federal, Winchester etc etc It's super reliable now and OMG it's so accurate Here is the target at 25 meters, 8 shots of 357 mag with the red dot

Burris Fast Fire 3. Long pin from Brownells. So far I've tried variety of different 38 and 357 ammo including my handloads. They all work pretty damn good!

Now if only S&W could handle their 44-biz in a similar fashion.
I'm still holding my breath that one day I will own a quality 44MAG S&W piece and not something they banged off for a quick sale.

Did you make these changes because originally it wouldn't reliably fire all brands of 357 ?

Can you provide more details on the firing pin and set screw?

I have a similar issue with mine and would appreciate any advice.

If you're cheap like me, instead of a longer main spring tension screw you can place a used SP primer cup over the end of the screw. Works like a champ!
