I recently purchased a 1979 Mod 28 in beautiful condition and noticed the bluing on the barrel was of a different colour/shade than that of the frame. I thought at first the barrel may have been replaced resulting in a darker blue. After some research I have come to learn this is quite common on some older S&W revolvers due to the nickle content in the barrel and cylinder. Has anyone noticed this on their guns and if so what model?
