Had an SD40VE and traded it for an SD9VE, only reason is 1. It was a straight trade, and 2. I already have a browning hi power in 9mm and find 9mm more economical to shoot. If you are hell bent on the 40, or are just getting a deal on one you can't refuse get one and don't look back. The SD40VE is a fantastic pistol, and even though it is a budget pistol it is a straight shooter and the apex spring kit is only 39.99 and smooths out the trigger a bunch. Mags are easy to find, and if you upgrade the sights they are the same ones found on the M&P, same goes for holsters.
