S&W SD9VE Budget pistol 1000 round review.

Meh, hes not wrong about 1000 rounds over 10 months. Even a Hipoint would perform the same and we still know Hipoint is still garbage.

I used it like a normal shooter would and gave my input and opinion. Maybe you should do a torture test on one and see how many rounds it shoots in rapid succession before the plastic frame melts.

Still usable data for sure and a good write up, but the round count isn't substantial enough to conclude anything about the longevity, durability or reliability of the pistol. Based on your own admission you fired two boxes the last time you shot it. 100 rounds is quite honestly a warm up and not worth mentioning in the same sentence as reliability, durability or longevity as it relates to the pistol.

Forget the torture test. Just keep shooting it. I look forward to seeing the 5000 round writeup.

That'll take him another 4 years. :)

I'd rather only have 3000-3500 rounds through a gun that costs more - like a Shadow with new aftermarket grips to fit my hands. Same money spent, but 3000-3500 trigger pulls of joy, rather than 5000 trigger pulls of 'barf'. And yes, I can shoot the SD9VE well. I just think it's a horrible gun.

I look forward to reading your 5000 round review of the shadow soon then.

I am honestly really interested in what wore on it after that many rounds. How does the bore look? Can you post some pics?
I'll make a new thread for you sometime, if you wish, but it's quite uneventful. My gun looks absolutely filthy compared to yours, like it lives in a tar pit. Lower frame filled with black crud. I spray or pick out the big chunks every now and then before a match.

Bore looks fine, but there is a little bit of buildup here or there. I don't care. I really don't clean it much, and usually only run 1 patch through it every 750-1000 rounds.

The top of the trigger bar has some visible wear.

For me, it's a competition gun and sees a lot of use. Last weekend I ran 800 rounds through it at a class. Another 250 yesterday, similar the Wed before that, etc. At 10 yds, I can still hit within 1" of what I'm aiming at when I take my time and focus. A friend finally replaced the barrel of his Shadow at 60,000 rounds, because it was losing accuracy. I have a few years to go. :)

At 25k report including parts replaced and broken would be a great report for would be shadow owners. And others just curious on data points.
