Sa 80

SA80 isn't a named prohib; it's prohibited because it's select-fire. Being a semi-auto-/manual-only version of a select-fire rifle doesn't make it prohib if the select-fire rifle is not named prohib. (e.g. Tavor, FS2000, PS90, etc.)

Hmm, I could have sworn I saw it on the prohibited list. My mistake :HR:

I happened to use this one with an ACOG and a 40mm HK launcher in combat. Junk. The grenade launcher was awesome, but I had 3 stoppages with 1 magazine in a maintained weapon. Far from acceptable. I would never own one. It definitely DOES have the look cool factor though. If you do end up getting one (if you have your prohib licence and find one) just be aware that it isn't as awesome as it looks.

Does anyone know if these are availible to buy in Canada, if so where and how much? I am assuming that they would be a restricted firearm correct?

Prohib, but not to worry, you don't want one anyways.

An off the shelf AR will beat it, and is far more modular.

AFAIK no semi-only versions were built, so it would be prohib as a FA or CA firearm.
The Cadets have semi auto (CADET GP RIFLE -L98A2), my brother is a Sergeant in the cadets.

They used to have single shot SA80s with cocking levers (CADET GP RIFLE - L98A1), which can be shot left handed:

You can't buy them, of course.

If you duct tape a FN MAG to them, you can fire on full auto, according to the UK Civilian Haters, so would be reclassified prohib. But you can't buy them.

One of my many plans has been to make a bullpup lower using an AR180B upper. It would look like an SA80 and function pretty much the same.

The SA80 is basically a bullpup AR18 with all the reliability of a potato.

Basicly, the old cadet rifles are worn out and they tried to save money by pulling the uncoverted A1 from their warstock without doing the handcrack modifciation. Someone quoted me that they have 200K A1 that are in warstock.
