You are making the right purchase, these guns are great "in the field". The sellers should put out accessories lists for these guns. It would be a lot easier than "hacking the net" to find things. I have used one for a while, and they work in...rain....snow..and nice days without problems. This is the gun you spend time shooting.....
They are heavy, versus an AR, so you will have to do a little bit of muscle building... That way, you will be ready to CARRY IT all day, which those AR folks can't do.
Oh, and they are really, really accurate, and really, really reliable, too!

Interesting, I keep hearing how accurate the "Black Special" Rifle is, but I have never yet had someone out score an AR at our matches with one! I find the sights somewhat crude and overly large, the action quite violent and it tends to beat up brass for reloading. I think the only real advantage is that they are non restricted.

I think TSE got an order of full length classic greens with a 1/7 twist, in additon to the carbine.
I find the Swiss Arms no more heavier than a HK SL8. Yes a stock SA is more front heavy than a stock AR, but not a pimped out AR with a RAS front end bipod etc. like lots of guys seem to do. SA tend to throw the ejected brass far to the forward right and some cases show dings. I can never account for all my brass with one like I can with an AR. Parts are more expensive, some would say unreasonable so. But the upside is a very accurate rifle that is non restricted!

I'd like to invite you down to Calgary for our Service Rifle shoots with the APRA. We shoot the full 126 round program out to 500 meters. We have a few Swiss Arms shooters that are not too bad and might show you a thing or two..ha..ha..
On a serious note, we need more guys from Edmonton, who want to shoot "true Service Rifle", to come down and shoot with us (just need to fix the range road since it washed out). Our numbers need to grow in all the shooting sports.
A good shooter will win with a Swiss Arms rifle, quality AR whatever, the sport is still primarily skill based. I used to shoot IPSC. The sport was dominated by the outdated 1911 pistol. There is a mind set that you can't win if you don't have a 1911. My name is on the Provincial Standard Class championship trophy 3 times, did it with a HK USP Tactical in .45 cal. Nearly all of my competition was shooting 1911's (they always broke and jammed alot as well).

Please do. I think Savage has a schedule up under the Service rifle form. We have to re-schedule some matches now that the road is out. Savage advised me that you can cross the creek with a 4x4.
