I thought I would post a couple of pictures of my newest. I've had it just over a week now. Still waiting for the registration certificate to arrive from the CFO before I can try it out at the range. So, I've disassembled it a couple of times and done the grease lube job as per Tony's video. I used synthetic bearing rated grease for the lube. And I ran a couple of patches down the bore, so she's ready to shoot. I also removed the stripper clip guide since I have no use for it. I also have a proper black leather sling being made for her. The two additions so far are the cheeck pad and a couple of E-Lander 10 round magazines.

I may mount a red-dot on the fore end rail and try that out after I try out the irons and get them zeroed. And I'm also looking at a CASM mount for an optic, we'll see. I know I got to the party late with my purchase, so if this is old news for some of you, I apologize.

These are restricted? I thought they were the same length as the norinco shorties. Any chance you could measure the height of your front sight post from the tip of the post to the dovetail base? Nice rifle!

Perhaps he's in Quebec...

it's an m1A scout, has a 18" barrel , so it's a restricted
add a measly 1/2" and it would be a non restricted.
I would have put a 18.5" Krieger or criterion barrel on a non restricted m1a receiver...... but that's just me
no interest in having a range only restricted m14 type when it can be had in a nonrestricted model.

nice rifle tho ;) she looks great

Congrats on your rifle and welcome to the Club! Yes they're a bit more $$ than the Norc's but IMO worth it (previously owned a M305 Shorty)
I've had my SOCOM16 out a few times and its the cat's a$$. Give the irons a chance before mounting an optic.
Here's mine….
