Your question is not dense at all. Honestly, no one really knows what this ban will involve. It's anyone's guess at this point. I wish that we had some info on what will be affected, but only those who have thought up this ban know that.
 
If it looks "AR ish" or "AR like" you will be 'dispossessed' and they will tell you they are taking it to determine its status.

This will under the circumstances take years and perhaps by then new changes/interpretations will mean that it is gone anyway.

If not, and they can't say it is included in the ban (although they will likely try anyway or just ignore you etc) and you look like you will put up a fight to get it back............

You will eventually maybe get it back in some type of condition.

Ammo and most likely any magazines taken are history.

Absolutely not. They will take it right away.

The people doing the dispossessing are not experts and will not be making that determination.

Any doubt or possibility and it will be taken to be figured out later.
