For you guys that own them how are you liking it?

My preference is for the XD(m) but the lack of 10 round mags for this pistol has been a real pain in my ass.

My experience with polymer guns has been mostly with a G17. Since the XD has a longer barrel I imagine it might be slightly more accurate and I've also been reading that the trigger pull and reset feels a lot different to the Glock.

How is it with re-loads? Is it picky like the Beretta PX4?

I love my XD9 Tactical. It is reliable and accurate. Fits in my hand nicer than the Glock (no offense to the Glock guys), because the grip angle is different. And yes, I have tried a Glock.
Yes the trigger is quite different than the Glock, as the internal workings are extremely different.
My only complaint: Aftermarket parts are far and few between and are hard to get.

I'm pretty excited about this firearm. Warranty work concerns me a bit but I'm hoping I wont ever need to use their warranty.

I'm a Glock hater... My wife's XD9 is a really nifty little gun - Has run well with all kinds of boolits, is wonderfully accurate, and feels like a gun, unlike Glocks, which feel like Darth Vadar hockey sticks to me. (And, I have personally WITNESSED a G17 go KB, with factory ammo.)

If the XD was bigger in the grip, I would buy one. The grip safety does, however, limit the mods one can easily due to make the grip big enough for my gynecologist digits.

Thanks for the input guys. I've been looking forward to this pistol for a little while now. I'm a fan of Glocks but though I'd break things up a bit and try something different.

How does the trigger differ to the Glock though? Shorter re-set?

The XD series pistols is top notch. My XD-40 has been thru several tactical courses and right now is around the 12k round mark and still not a hiccuop. My xd-45 sees a lot less use but it too has been reliable and accurate. I recently bought my wife the Xd in 9mm. No regrets there either. As far as warranty work goes do not sweat it. Most firearm warranty repair places in Canada take just as long as having to send it to the US, albeit with less involved paperwork.

The trigger is not "match" quality but it is decent. Accuarcy is good to go and the fit (at least in my hands )is superior to most other pistols of this type. I find it to be very comfortable (in all calibers).

Get the XD, shoot it ** A LOT ** and enjoy it.

Regards,

Thanks for the input guys. I look forward to getting mine. Looks to be about 3 or so weeks away. Local guns store only had the .40 cal in stock.

The XD's reset is much longer than a Glock's.
