SA22 - opinion

I just place an order for a FN made SA 22. What do you guys think of this gun? I bought it for the wife for camping since she doesn't like shooting any of my other guns. Anything I should take note of?

I got it mainly cuz it's packable, tub mag, so I won't loose them. Plus it's a browning and would match my other guns nicely.

Fun little gun with a bit of history behind it...bottom ejection sometimes throws the cases into your shirt sleave if they are loose.. but you will learn how to hold it to avoid this.

I got a question for your SA22 owners. I tried shooting some yellowjacket through it yesterday (the only 22 ammo I could find in the basement), and it would not feed at all. It seems the checkered part of the bullet is getting caught on a little nub in the receiver just before the chamber.

Anyone had this problem? Am I doomed to only run roundnose in this?

I've never tried hyper-velocity 22lr in mine... and don't think I'll ever try it either...

but I've had good luck with the Federal Lightning (when you could still get them), Winchester X-pert, Wildcat, Dynapoint, Power Point, T22, Federal Champion... or just about everything else for that matter.

When it comes to plinking and chassing down empty hulls, the SA22 is one of the best!
