My advice to you is get and read a reloading book before you hurt yourself. As vicious states 2400 is typically only used for heavy loads and powerful charges for max velocity. Like H110 is does not like being loaded light. Be safe!
"...in a gen 1 SAA..." As in a 19th Century vintage revolver? Worth far too much to shoot at all. However, Alliant's site shows 2400 for 250 grain bullets, so a 255 will be fine.
