Sabre Defense

I took the bolt out of a Sabre Defense AR. If how they stamp their gas key is any indication of quality control, I'd say they're good. Stamped in three spots, all cutting into the screw ensuring it doesn't come out. Colt has it in two spots. Compared it to a Bushmaster that also had two "stamps", none of which even touched the screw making me wonder what was the point of stamping in the first place? I'm sure all three ARs work well, it just come down to how "well" you need it to be.

Sounds about right. The sabre's selling point is reliability rather then accuracy (it has fairly average accuracy as far as ARs are concerned, with SWAT magazine reporting 2" group at 100 yards). That leaves the top tier quality as the selling point.

Most people on this forum will likely never be expected to defend themselves with their AR. For a casual shooter they won't really benefit from the added reliability of a "flawless" AR over a normal quality AR. Stags and Bushmasters rarely let people down at the range, and if they do jam it is only a minor inconvenience.

But when it comes time to arming our law enforcement officers, I have no problems with my tax money going towards the upper echelon of AR quality. They deserve the very best.
