Sad 6.5X55 Swede

Picked up a matching #'s barrel ,action,bolt of a 1944 Husvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag in 6.5x55sw. - someone has cut the barrel of to sporting length and turned down the spot for the rear sight.This rifle WAS quite rare, only thing left for me to do is drill tap + continue with sporting,breaks your heart.History says that the good folks at Husky turned down the barrels offered by Gustoff corp as not good enough for their tolerances .Would have been nice to find it un-bubba-ed.

Or.............get a new in the white military barrel from Trade -ex like I did and talk to Precision Gunsmithing{one of the above sponsors] Harold

We had one of those Husqvarnas (42 I think) and I distinctly remember my then 12 year old son banging a spinner (maybe 6" at the most) repeatedly at 200 yards with the issued sights. This caused a couple of girlfriends/wives of two 30ish guys to comment that they should get some lessons from "the kid".
