sad end to a friends collection

My wife would do the same to my collection before I was cold. She's said as much. They all start out encouraging your hobbies and feigning interest or you wouldn't have married them. Then when they are comfortatable in thier situation the true colors show.Four kids later she loathes my shooting ,hunting and modest collection. The kids barely tolerate her ..........................Too expensive to change horses at this point[27 years].But you can rest assured I've talked to the kids about mate selection.Stay single if it ain't broke don't fix it.It's much nicer freezing on a stand deer hunting than being home getting ragged at...................Harold

What a disgusting shame, that douche is destroying history.

Yet one more reason to be sure of the girl you marry.

I have heard of a few women that latched onto RCMP officers for the free ride, and a ticket out of being a waitress for the rest of their life.

It's too bad that man hadn't met a better woman to be his partner.:(

X2, and after reading this tragic story I'm once again glad my wife is pro gun.

The first week we knew each other I had her at the range shooting what is now her SKS. Yesterday she spent the better part of the day nagging me to take her to the range. I of course did and we had a good time. This morning she has a huge smile on her face. :)

The ONLY way to ensure, after your death, that your firearms are dealt with in the way you want is to put crystal clear instructions in your will stating what is to be done with them. I suggest that it is best to leave them to a person or persons who have PAL's - I know that this is not legally required, but it is simpler and saves any hassles in the long run.

I also recommend that you name an alternate in case the first person has become incapacitated or has predeceased you. One idea is to leave all or some of them to a shooting organization such as a gun club, or CSSA.

You MUST make this clear to your lawyer and firmly instruct him to do what you want - when my wife and I recently updated our wills using a new-to-us lawyer I found out that he believed that, on the death of a gun owner, all his/her firearms had to be turned over to the police. I straightened him out in no uncertain terms and our gun conversation led to him wanting to be taken out to the range - will be doing that soon.

You young CGN'ers out there tend to think that wills are only for old folks - GET IT DONE NOW! For the sake of your family and to ensure that your firearms are not destroyed should you meet with an untimely death, have a will drawn up by a lawyer. It costs less than most of the guns you buy and drawing up a will has seldom proved fatal.

Sad to hear, but no so uncommon from what I've seen and heard.
