You can't legally hunt deer and think bigger stuff with a 223 so guess its mostly a varmint caliber. I was close to buying a cz last week or so as you could use it on the farm and to hunt with.
I am still mad that legal farm owners are not allowed to use their handguns legally on their farm and should be allowed to use my restricted rifle on the farm also as its private property. Now I don't have residence on my farm but can't really see the diff.

So you guys are saying the liberals can't push a bill thru if they are minority government? And what makes you guys think the conservatives will keep backing up gun owners in regards to these rifles or handguns? Lets just hope we don't keep seeing more massacres from whackos.

And to the guy that said cars should be speed limited that is another bill the liberals were trying to pass. 150km hour max which is too damn low. 200km/max is more reasonable. They had no speed limits in Montana for awhile as experiment and their accidents didn't go up from all I read. Still they put it down again but most american highways are 75mph and most americans drive 80 mph and you still get passed a bit.Compare that to our lower 60mph on most road speeds. When you let people go a little faster most are reasonable and happy.

Just because a few stupid kids drive stupid fast and kill people is no reason to limit all cars to 150km hour./this can actually cause unsafe passing conditions when people misjudge distance and speed of oncoming traffic. Do you really want your car to start cutting out in the middle of your passing maneauver. It don't take that much for many of the newer vehicles ot hit 150km/hr thats only 90 mph.

Government is trying to regulate everything nowadays. Time to move to another country.

Regardless of what you can and cant hunt with a .223 , if they derestricted the AR it would have sporting purpose , the only reason it doesnt in canada is cause it is restriced!!

agreed, but are we signatory to the UN's small arms proliferation manifesto or whatever it is called? That might be the document in question, and IIRC does put some regulatory perssure on domestic govs.
