"Safari Rifle" - scope help needed

When setting up a "Safari rifle" WITH front and rear sights, what would be a common adjustable scope?

I see they are normally lower powered scopes..like 1.5 x 4 and quite compact with a very small front bell or no bell at all.

My concern is at lower powers, wouldn't a fella 'see' the front sight in the scope?

Wouldn't that be somewhat annoying?

Any suggestions...as i don't want to remove the sights on this new set-up.

I have a 1.5-5x Leupold on my Ruger M77RSM in 416 Rigby. At 1.5x you can see the front sight but in any field situation you'll never notice the sight, trust me!
 
Go with something low-powered, like a 1-4, 1.5-5 or 1.75-6.

When you're in the field hunting, the front sight will be the last thing on your mind!

FWIW, I used a 3.5-10 x 50 VX3 with illuminated reticle mounted with Warne QD rings for my last African hunt. It was recommended by our outfitter specifically for use on leopard.

The scope worked very well for pretty well everything (leopard, giraffe, baboon and assorted plains game) except for when walking through the bush (when tracking a wounded buffalo). While in the bush, the QD's allowed the scope to be removed for a couple of days then re-mounted later with no fuss.

Currently, I've replaced the scope with a Trijicon 1-4. I believe that will be "what the doctor ordered" for lioness and what-have-you.

I wouldn't worry too much about seeing the rifle's front sight when you're focussed on a critter in your crosshairs!

the A-square Hannibal comes with a Leupold M8 scout mounted scope, with a low, fixed magnification. It holds up to the intense recoil, sits far enough away to be 'eyebrow-friendly,' acquires very very quickly, and is sitting in quick-mounts so it can come off in a couple seconds when you want to use irons.

I like the low power vari-s for lighter recoilling guns, like my 500 and 44 handi's. 1.5-4.5x20mm with a german post reticle, and a fixed Redfield 1.75x20mm work very well in this application. I'm still deciding how to outfit my .458; probably a 2-7x34mm there (because I plan on loading it with lightweight barnses at ~2700fps, I'd like a little more magnification. a 2-7 set at 4x power will give better results than a 1-4x at 4x)
