Safe distance to shoot 7.62x25?

Hi there,
I recently ordered a Russian tt33 and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, I have read that the 7.62x25 has a high chance of ricochet against steel targets under 50ft.
My current range is 30ft with dirt behind it, Should i be worried about possible ricochets?

I've sent thousands of rounds downrange into a dirt backstop with my TT-33 and never had anything come back at me. If I was in your shoes I'd rest easy.

never worried about it. way more ricochets shooting .22 at the gravel pit, never had one at the range, Tok or anything else

Make sure you have a proper angle on the steel...and its not covered in through and through holes...hitting them at the wrong angle COULD cause it to ricochet in an odd angle.
