There are a thousand things which can cause a shift in the POI of a rifle.
They include rest position, amount of bearing area of the rest, downward pressure onto the bearing area, ammunition variations, ambient air pressure, barrel-mounted vs stock-mounted bipods, bipod position/type, bayonet weight/position/presence/non-presence, presence/weight/position of other mounted accessories including brakes and launchers.
On a gas-operated semi-auto, it also includes gas on/off and the amount of gas used/vented, always in combination with ammo variations.
Best accuracy with most gas-op SA rifles will be with the gas ON and using just enough for the empties to clear the action comfortably.
The KEY is BARREL VIBRATIONS. Do anything to interfere with existing barrel vibrations and the thing will shoot differently.
Hope this helps.
