I've been shooting Garand with an Amegaranges front rail and a Ram-line stock the past few years and it had quickly become a favourite.

So when a Garand Sage popped up on the EE, I had to pounce on it.

She's a bit heavy; a hair over 12 pounds with scope and sling, but holds and points very nicely.

When life settles down and I get to a range, I'll file a report. For now I am well pleased!

I figured I might need to put on a flame-resistant suit before posting this. :D

If it redeems me at all, I do have a second Garand, kept as John C. intended; iron-sights and walnut stock.

you don't know what john c intended, he's dead. I'm sure he would've prefered it that way. Purists can go..............
It's your gear, bubba on!

I wouldn't call that buuba...if he had taken a Sage M14 stock and modded it to fit a garand that would be bubba :D

I got one question, how can you have a 3 inch eye releve with that setup? Your eye is like a foot from the scope.

I like it man, I was thinking of doing that to my garand before I was stupid enough to sell it.

it haunts my dreams to this day...

Yep Nixon, that stock should look familiar; many thanks!

NavyShooter: I really do like it, but can appreciate that it is not everyone's cup of tea...

It used to shoot a remarkably consistent 1.5 MOA, with a Hdy 168 bthp over 4895, and I'll be curious to see if this changes ithat. The worst part is it will probably be a month before I get out to try it!

Hungry: As soon as I can arrange my crazed schedule (I can't make it to the Milcun one darnit!)...you'll likely see it at one of your clinics. If you don't mind a Garand in the mix that is.

It's not bubba'ed if it can be easily changed back to original configuration with either original or repro furniture.

I always wondered what an M1 would look like in a Sage EBR stock...
