ok so i have a sage ebr dont matter what i do it short strokes, wont load next bullet into chamber, sometimes it does fine. Say out of twenty shots 10 dont load. tried 3 different barrelled action in that run fine in a usgi stock, or new norinco stock, tried us mags twenty different norinco mags some pinned some followers, everything works flawlessly in the normal stocks, tried different ammo. tilt test works, clean gas piston and chamber, but no luck someone please help me

That rings a bell. I have a Sage, AKM, Vltor all 18.5 shorties that will short stroke with Norc ammo. Must have used 200 rds including CZ surplus, finally tried some reloads and problem solved. Norc was old stock from Lever Arms (1990's) likewise the CZ stuff, maybe under loaded? Haven't shot for a while and was thinking of putting back in the Norc oprod spring which is shorter than the GI spring and trying the Norc ammo again. Sorry not much help here.

Do you have the proper shim installed when you mount it in the Sage stock. If you don't it will throw the gas system out of wack in the Sage although it would work fine in standard stocks with the regular mounted gas system.

issue resloved on this action, op rod was rubbing on barrel slightly slowing down action so it would not strip in new round, all seems to be running perfect, tried three op rods and finally last one would not rub, one usgi and two norinco. The older norinco one i got from milarms was the ticket. weird enough i tried the other op rods on my other m14 and no issues what so ever, not as smooth but no short stroking or issues what so ever. op rod guides are peened tight and red thread lock. both actions are norinco 2007 models , one with lrb barrel, one with hr.

Wow, glad you finally solved the problem. But you're right, that is indeed weird. Never heard of that happening before regardless of barrel contour using the Sage op rod guide. Thanks for the info.

Sometimes a dab of grease might act as a temporary fix but this solution has been known to solve things if one did not have three other oprods to trial fit. Good on ya for solving it. Even better that you took my advice and then exceeded it....

Don't buy one, buy two of them!!! Or three or four. Yuk yuk yuk :)

Cheers
