i know AK 47/74 are prohib but would the action on this render it a different firearm, therefore importable?

Prohib for sure. What do they care about the action when the .22lr AK-look alike which has nothing associated witht he centrefire rifle was deemed a prohib. I wish it wasnt true but the canadian laws are just plain stupid.

that's true... but it's not a 47/74 variant, it's a civie variant of a different design.

VZ58 is about as similar to an AK as an apple is to a golf ball.

It's not pretty much the same, it IS the same. This is an AK no two ways about it.

That's a pretty neat gas system. Wonder how reliable it is...not that it really matters for us Canadians.
