Sako 75 vs. 85

I'm curious which you like better. I have a couple 75's and am contemplating trading one in on a new 85. Am I really trading up? Just like to hear some thoughts before I make my decision. Thanks.

Its mostly personal preference. To me, the 75's are nicer rifles. I like their mag release, stock, recoil lug, and bolt better. However they are heavier than the 85's.

The 85 Kodiak is a very nice rifle.

ya I handled an 85 kodiak as well and i agree it had a very nice feel to it but it's chambered in .338 win mag and the biggest thing i hunt here is moose so not sure it would get alot of use. I am very tempted though

I prefer the stock of the 75, I prefer the weight of the 85. My favourite of all the Sako's I've owned is the AV series.

I prefer the stock of the model 75 Sako's. I love all my Sako 75 rifles. Future purchases will be used Sako m75 rifles unles I can find a great deal on a m85 and replace the stock with a MacMillan in a m75 stock.

What Double Gun said. Add to that the factory synthetic stock on the 85 feels like it belongs on a Savage or toy gun.

+1 on that! No comparison between today's Sakos and those older AV models.
