so, i got a buddy that picked one of these up and was wondering where you guys and gals have gone with hunting bullets and powder ideas??, anything work well more then the others?..no ideas using any reloader products as they are next tp impossible to find around here...any hints are greatly appreciated!!

and according to sako website he`s got an 11 twist rate, just trying to get him close to weights and other powders to try and cut down the load building cost for him.lol, spent his money on the gun and scope lol

Try 4831sc, federal 215m primers and a good bullet in the 175-190gr range. If you want some really well made bullets, try dale Jansen at chinchaga bullets.

I've got an armful of .300 Win mags. Something that always seems to work is 80 grains of H1000 and whatever you think appropriate for a 180 grain bullet seated close to the lands. That's actually a grain off of max in most books, but seems to produce 3150 fps in my 26" barrels as regular as clockwork. A ballistic-tip, Accubond or Partition is about as good a guess as anything, or perhaps a Hornady Interlock as a cheaper option. Extreme spreads are very low. Take a grain off that and substitute a 190 grain Berger or SMK and you'd have my old F-Class load.

H1000 was named when Hodgdon was still playing games with his powder names. It came from being THE 1000 yard powder for the .300. ;)

You may find that compared to factory loads this one will stroke ya.
