I have been a fan of the Sako 85 since they first came out. Never had a problem until this past weekend. My bolt exploded into its separate parts.
I am curious as to if what happened to me is a common occurrence. While the bolt was open, I inadvertently put a hint of pressure on the cocking indicator extension of the firing pin assembly.. Truly only a gently weight. The shroud popped off and the firing pin, spring, and other unnamed part exploded in my hands. As I watched the deer walk away, I was busy watching a youtube video on bolt reassembly.
I am curious if others have had their bolts disassemble/explode while in the field.
