Sako 85 discontinued

3 actions lengths. Multiple factory stocks (glossy, oil, laminate, McMillan, etc), different barrel contours, iron sights or not, beautiful triggers… the Sako A series was the best of the best at the time and it’s been all downhill since imo.
I don’t care how much it weighs when I have a quality Sako in my hands.

Dang that’s pretty light actually for a nice blued walnut shooter. What is it chambered in?

Bought my first old sako last week, a 222. I’m pretty excited

My SAKO Aiii in 338 WM weighs 7lbs without a scope. Probably wouldn't want it lighter than that tbh

Length of the receiver is really my only gripe. From a scope mounting perspective. I like dovetail rings but which you could mount the one piece bases anywhere on the dovetail instead of just the end.

Slimbo is that 222 the full stock you were talking about?

You can mount it that way with the Leupold Sako dovetail mounts, placing them anywhere on the dovetail. Some guys using the vintage Sako mounts file off the stud on the bottom of the rear mount so that it can be positioned further forward on the rear dovetail.

Saw the updated website. I really did not expect Sako to drop the 85. One of my buddies in Finland had the new 100 in hand, he hates it, said they tried combining too many concepts. His last comment to me was to not part with my Finnlight.

Sako updated their website today and removed the Sako 85, sad times.

This is great news the Sako 85 model was terrible. Sako refused to address the ejection issues. I had four 85s and 3 had the ejection issues. Even fierce Arms had lots and lots of issues with the ejection of their 85 copy.

They should bring back the A series rifles
