Sako 85 Finnlite, worth the extra $$ ?

Mmmm, finnlights...

I bought the 75 finnlight in .308 about 4 years ago, then bought the olive EDGE 2 years ago. It goes 7lbs even, with the VX3 2.5-8. The 85 Finnlight .30-06 I bought used on here and it already had the EDGE on it. It goes 7lbs 2oz scoped, also with a VX3 2.5-8. The top one is my 85 SS .260, also with an EDGE, and goes 7lbs 10oz, with the VX3 3.5-10.

All 3 will shoot under an inch, consistently, and usually under 2" at 300yds.

damm,...that's a nice set of Sakos:cool:......260 and 30-06 is all a guy would need.....;)

It got brought to my attention that Finnlites can be had for closer to 1500$,and this changes my opinion on value. When I was seriously contemplating buying one I was ready to pay over 2000$ all in with optilocks [Wholesale Sports].
500$ towards an Edge and you have a fine mountain rifle in my books.
Much like Blargons' beauties.

Re: Sako A7 as accurate as my Finnlights. My stainless 308 will place 5 shots touching dead center at 100 yards with Fusion 180s. :) Unbelieveable accuracy for the price.

I picked up the sako a7 package deal.. still have to take it out and try it before I go out this coming weekend. got the 180gr winchester super x ammo and a box of barnes triple shock x bullet 150gr..

Maybe I sohuld take a look at the fusion 180s , just testing to find my go to bullet for the gun.

I said yes earlier in this thread. I have been turning my nose up at Tikka's funny magazine, plastic bits etc.

yesterday I was the range with a couple of loads for my latest purchase and T3 hunter in 6.5x55 and here are some of the groups.

And the best one, the flyer high made the group .42, the big hole is 4 shots measuring .308 side to side making it a .044 4 shot group. This is pretty good fro a gun that weighs 7 lbs 9 oz inlcuding the scope and mounts.

Here's the gun

I have two Sako 85's, one Finnlite in a 25-06 and the other regular stainless 30-06. Both have McMillian Edge stocks on them. Great rifles IMO, and the new stock just tops them off nicely! I picked the 25-06 up from Prophet River and did not pay $2000 for it either ;) and as far as the stock, I got them both on sale so they weren't $700.
